Contemporary Art Song Recital with Elisabeth Stevens (soprano) & Benjamin Nylander – Miller Hall

Experience the vibrant and evolving world of contemporary art song in this powerful opening recital of the 2025 Summer of Song Festival. Internationally acclaimed artists, soprano Elisabeth Stevens and pianist Benjamin Nylander, present a compelling program featuring works by Maria Thompson Corley, Tony Solitro, Jake Landau, and Courtney Carey. Making her recital debut as a composer, Stevens will offer a preview of Flowers at Dawn, her multidisciplinary song cycle exploring humanity through floral relationships. Presented as part of ASPNY’s expanded commitment to supporting new music and living composers, this marks the organization’s first full recital devoted to contemporary works in its 15-year history. With fresh perspectives and fearless artistry, this recital invites audiences to engage with the music of our time—intimate, bold, and unapologetically expressive.
